La Luz is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping immigrants succeed in Sonoma Valley.

Whom Do We Serve?
La Luz serves a predominantly Latino immigrant population residing in the Valley who wish to build  their education, income, language skills and/or knowledge of local customs and resources.

What Do We Provide?
La Luz provides education, employment-related guidance and referrals, social and family counseling, and other support services designed to assist our clients in overcoming barriers and becoming more fully integrated into our community.

Why Is What We Do Important to You?
The overall health and well-being of our community are greatly affected by the health and well-being of our most challenged citizens.  The best way to insure that all of us can continue to fully enjoy our quality of life in the Sonoma Valley is to insure that all of the members of our community have an opportunity to become an integral part of the community.  

Where Does Our Money Come From and Where Does It Go?
La Luz is an incredibly cost-effective and productive organization.  Over 85% of all funds raised by La Luz go directly into providing our services and programs.

Over 70% of La Luz’s financial needs are met by contributions from the citizens and businesses of the Sonoma Valley.  Roughly 50% of that is raised through special events held throughout the year, the most renowned of which is Noche de Luna in the early Fall.  The balance comes from direct contributions by individuals, businesses and religious and philanthropic organizations that believe in and support our mission and programs.

Less than 30% of our financial support comes from grants and institutional aid.

What Can You Do?

There are four important ways you can support the mission and work of La Luz:

    * Understand and believe in our mission and the needs we serve
    * Attend and participate in our events
    * Make direct financial contributions (say “yes” when we ask for help)
    * Volunteer either at our Center or to assist with our events and programs
